Fairtrade Fortnight in St Andrews 2008:

Faritrade Fortnight was bigger and better than ever in St Andrews this year, with many  events held by different organisations to promote Fairtrade and encourage shoppers to buy fairly traded products.

One of the highlights which made clear the benefits of Fairtrade to the producer was a public meeting which was addressed by Julius Ethang'atha, a Fairtrade tea grower from Kenya.  This talk was organised jointly by the Town Fairtrade Campaign, the University Fairtrade co-ordinator and the Scottish Fair Trade Forum.

The Scottish Fair Trade Forum organised speaking events for Julius around Scotland during Fairtrade Fortnight, and Julius was also interviewed for the BBC Scotland News website.  He was delighted at the level of enthusiasm for Fairtrade that he found in Scotland.
