2. AGM businessPM took the chair, and proposed that the four office bearers should continue in these positions; seconded by AS (chair: AC, vice-chair, AM, treasurer, PR, secretary, MR). No changes were proposed to the constitution.3. Financial reportPR distributed the accounts. Income over the year: £143, from three grants; expenditure, £115.27; funds currently £118.29, including other donations paid in since the end of the last financial year. Co-op Bank has to receive requests for a statement by telephone. Assets currently include a Co-op voucher and some wine for use at a future event. 4. CertificatesAS and MR to liase with lists of premises to ascertain where certificates have still to be given out. AS to produce more certificates if required, and it is hoped to soon finish distribution of these. 5. St Andrews Festival WeekNo programme is to be produced for this, though one will be published in St Andrews in Focus and on the website. Rob Murray Brown to be contacted with details of any event by beginning of September. AS suggested holding a ÔSpot the CertificateÕ competition during the week, with prizes for winning lists. AS and AC to design an A4 poster as the entry form, using our logo, to be e-mailed to schools, and printed and made available somewhere in town. AC and MR to write publicity paragraph for Citizen and Courier re. competition and report of AGM; MR to send details of competition to MerchantsÕ Association. 6.Fairtrade Fortnight 2008It was decided not to have a supermarket stall next year, but to hand out Finders and, if possible, free sample sachets of coffee in town centre on one day during the fortnight. Contact police and Fife Council nearer the time if it is decided also to have a stall in Church Square. MR to contact Cafe Ecosse re. buying coffee samples at reduced rates. It is also hoped to hold another event of some sort during the fortnight. If it proves possible to procure supplies of free samples, consideration will be given to approaching more B&B/ guest houses to promote Fairtrade goods. 7. Cupar Fairtrade Group celebrationMR and PR had attended the Cupar groupÕs declaration of Fairtrade Town status on 8 June, in County Buildings, Cupar, which was opened by Sir M. Campbell. Contact is maintained between the two groups. 8. Final Hons studentAC is to meet a university student writing an Honours dissertation about Fairtrade in St Andrews, on 29 August. AM and MR to attend if possible. 9. Future aimsDiscussion ensued regarding achievements to date, and ideas for maintaining momentum and widening the scope of future activities. Ways of educating consumers about fair trade and associated issues might include an e-mail newsletter, and active involvement with the Fairtrade Scotland campaign would help maintain links with other groups beyond the town. Possibilities for engaging with local producers would also be welcomed. Links to related sites (such as TJM) could be added to our website. Continued commitment to the original aims of the town campaign is essential. 9. Date of next meetingTues 6 November, 2007, at 40 Lawmill Gardens.
