2. Town SignMR to write to Community Council to thank them again for their donation towards the cost of the signs, which were put up in September on the four main routes leading into town. MR also to contact Rt Hon Sir M. Campbell, MP, to ask if he would provide a statement endorsing our campaign, or participate in a group photograph at one of the signs for use in the press during St Andrews Festival. 3. St Andrews Festival Weeki. Collage competition: six entries have so far been promised by local schools. These will be on display at Holy Trinity Church. AC to liaise with schools re. deadline (10 November), collection etc. MR to check with University re. size and type of board(s), and with a potential judge of the entries regarding availability and timing. Marion Smith, secy. of Co-op Fife Area MembersÕ Committee, has promised chocolate bars as prizes. AC to contact St Andrews Citizen regarding coverage and photograph, for article during St Andrews Festival week. ii. Posters for shops, cafes and businesses. Funding for 50% of the cost estimated by AS and AC (£66 in total) had been applied for (Fife Council) and the result should be known early next month. A donation of one to two pounds will be requested from recipients, which ought to cover the remainder of the cost; MR to produce receipts for donations. The design, wording and use of logos were discussed. Four versions will be produced if possible: ÔWe sell Fairtrade products hereÕ, ÔWe use Fairtrade products hereÕ, ÔWe serve Fairtrade products hereÕ, and ÔWe sell fairly traded products hereÕ. AS to experiment with design, but final production to await funding confirmation. Distribution of posters to be during or as soon after the festival week as possible, together with an explanatory letter for recipients (AC/MR). 4. Fairtrade FortnightDates: 26 February to 11 March, 2007. Stall to be held again in MorrisonÕs foyer, on Saturday 3 March. Town Fairtrade Finder to be up-dated and expanded to 2 sides of A4, folded in two or three, for use on stall. 5. Jan NimmoJan NimmoÕs film about banana production in Costa Rica, and her exhibition of prints based on woodcuts related to production issues, to be shown during Fairtrade Fortnight in St Andrews (or for longer). Marion Smith of Fife Area Co-op hopes to be able to help with funding towards costs (venue, publicity, refreshments). AC to contact potential venues: need an exhibition area where prints can be hung properly, preferably with an adjacent auditorium. MR to find out what Fairtrade Foundation theme is for next yearÕs Fortnight to see if this can be linked in with South American issues. 6. TaysideThinkTaysideThink website currently showing irrelevant information; AS to try to alert website to this. 7. AOBi. Jim Mason to be asked along on 13 November to tell us about Fairtrade from his local farming perspective. ii.It was decided not to contact St Andrews World Class with regard to possible publicity, but MR to contact the MerchantsÕ Association re. the two-yearly map and guide booklet so that the Campaign can be mentioned in the next issue. 7.
