St Andrews Day ReceptionDisplay FStJ had spoken to several local shops who donated some Fairtrade products they sell, to be displayed at the reception. CT to provide table cloths for this table display. BR to provide labels for the display. [BR notes meeting's praise of FStJ's initiative!] action: FISJ, CT, BR Acceptances 34 people had responded, some of whom will bring a partner, so numbers expected are 50 to 60. CT to invite a further representative of the University Energy and Environment office. Food and receptacles for it Some Traidcraft dried fruit and other sweet items to be ordered in addition to salted peanuts, plantain chips and Bombay mix, to the value of about £70. Remainder to be spent on crisps; AM finding out about the local source. MR and AM to provide bowls. action: AM, MR Drink 25 litres fruit juice and 18 l sparkling water have been bought; still have to buy more wine. action: PR Glasses and jugs FStJ arranging for loan of c. 100 wine and water/ juice glasses from the Students' Union, and also water jugs. action: FStJ Table cloths These have been hired from Fishers, to be delivered to P&MR, and returned by them afterwards. action: P&MR Unused food and drink This is to be kept for stall at Fairtrade Fortnight stall in Morrisons next March. [BR notes that since the CC is paying for around three-quarters of the event, three-quarters of the leftovers will belong to it. Hence he and MR now recommend that as much as possible be returned to suppliers for refund so that CC's final bill is as small as possible.] action: all who are now buying stuff to liaise with suppliers to get sale-or-return deals Press coverage MR liaising with the Citizen.
