AC is enquiring about the Common Good Fund. action: AC, MR Fairtrade Town BookletBR has this in hand. Production is envisaged of 2000 copies of an 8-page A5, plus a pull-out A4 directory folded into the middle. 500 copies of the directory to be printed now, then others to be printed at the next update. action: BR Visiting of businesses etc, to monitor use of Fairtrade products and to encourage new usersIt was decided to contact current users once a year in order to up-date the directory on the website and in the booklet, probably between New Year and Fairtrade Fortnight. Application for Fairtrade Town statusAC has submitted the completed the application form, and it is hoped that a decision will be made within a month. If status is granted, it is hoped to make an official declaration sometime during St Andrews Festival, between 25 and 30 November 2005. Assuming this goes ahead, about 100 invitations will be issued about 6 weeks ahead. Various venues are currently being considered. Once details are finalised, it is hoped to advertise the event with St Andrews Festival publicity material, in the Fife Council Diary of Events and Newspaper, and through local organisations and press. action: AC, MR, BR Meeting with Mr R. Yarr, Environment and Energy Manager of St Andrews UniversityAC had met Roddy Yarr, to discuss the university and town campaigns. Areas of common interest and mutual assistance include: publicity, venues, Fairtrade Kingdom campaign, listing of Fairtrade establishments, and the university as one 'flagship employer' in the town.
